Currently based in Edinburgh, Scotland, Alison gained her PhD in experimental physics at Glasgow University in 1996.  During this time she built core expertise in the deep understanding, modelling, and practical application of complex systems.  She contributed to two international collaborations - the design and feasibility study for NASA’s LISA mission, and the GEO 600 project in Germany. 

Using this perspective as a freelance consultant in industry, she went on to troubleshoot redesign and deliver highly political organisational and IT changes for Shell, Royal Bank of Scotland, and Halifax Bank of Scotland among others.  This went beyond technical change, and lit up a new pathway and possibility for those involved.  This sparked the realisation that her methods went beyond the normal approach for organisational change and that the key to shifting our systems was shifting the human beings in the system.

Alison is a qualified coach with a particular interest in purposeful entrepreneurship, career development and deep coaching models for personal development and performance breakthrough.  Having been personally mentored in the US by an industry veteran, she has brought her own change leadership and systems models to fruition in her own practice.

Alison believes that connection to the underlying patterns of innovation, creation and deep structural change in ourselves and our systems is vital to sustainability and meaning.  She goes beyond the current systems thinking models to incorporate the human element.  This enables leaders to connect to their inspiration and highest path of service, and to develop the independent platform, structure and perspective needed to succeed in a personally sustainable way.

She lives and works in Edinburgh, Scotland and has an international client base. Her hobbies and interests include horse riding, hill walking, yoga and spending time with her family and dog.
